FSU basketball head coach Luke Loucks continues to pound the recruiting trail to look for talent to acquire for his inaugural season. He added another player on Saturday when 6'8" wing Thomas Bassong announced his commitment to the Noles.

Bassong hails from Paris, France, playing in the Overtime Elite basketball league. He averaged 15.7 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 2.2 APG last season. He's the sixth player on the roster so far. Here's a look at what Luke Loucks has done in a short amount of time:
- Kobe Magee (Drexler)
- LaJae Jones (St. Bonaventure)
- Chauncey Wiggins (Clemson)
- Robert McCray (Jacksonville)
- AJ Swinton(Decided to stay at FSU)
Bassong has a 7'3" wingspan and could be a strong presence on defense. Bassong's commitment could be attributed to Loucks's connections to the NBA and his time playing overseas after leaving FSU.
The other five can shoot the three-ball well and have good length and athleticism. Loucks indicated he wanted to play an NBA up-tempo style, but also emphasizing defense.
It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the roster shakes out, but it'll be nearly an entire new regime in 2025-26.
FSU still needs a point guard and more overall depth to finish out the roster. Loucks will need to take at least five more players, and will probably use a mixture from the transfer portal, JUCO, and the high school ranks.
Four-star small forward Joshua Lewis is a name to keep an eye on. He officially visited FSU earlier this week. He's the No. 49 player nationally and the No. 11 small forward. He hails from Tampa, Florida.
Another high school player to keep an eye on is center Paolo Semedo. The 7'1" Orlando, Florida, product would be a big man with the potential to develop.
The transfer portal could yield more players too. It's good to see Loucks continue the momentum with new additions seemingly every day.
