COLLEGE GAMEDAY
Florida State football is taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST. It was announced that legendary College GameDay personality Lee Corso will be hanging up his headgear and riding off into the sunset.
Corso was a former Florida State Seminole player, where he played quarterback and cornerback from 1953 to 1957. He was the leader in career interceptions (14) until former cornerback Deion Sanders came in to tie the record at 14.
The "Sunshine Scooter" was someone who the fan base will always remember. However, it is a shame that ESPN's College GameDay chose him to attend the Ohio State-Texas season opener, even though Big Noon Kickoff was already there for the matchup.
While I get it doesn't mean anything, I thought it would have made sense for him to go to the Florida State-Alabama matchup since he was a former player with the university, and it would have been a nice send-off. However, I completely understand that the Seminoles ruined that opportunity with the 2-10 record from last year.
I hope that the university can still do something special for him, in terms of a tribute for his retirement from the show that entertained fans throughout the country. Florida State football's social media page invited fans to share a personal message for Lee Corso.

This is likely for a longer video that College GameDay will be making for a variety of college football fans for their show. However, I hope that Florida State steps up to the plate and finds a way to commemorate the special occasion of the former Seminole starting retirement.
His family probably isn't thrilled with not being able to return to Tallahassee for the final time, but I am glad that Corso is getting the send-off that he deserves.
