Former FSU standout quarterback Jordan Travis is no stranger to competition and overcoming adversity. Those were two things he faced nearly every year he wore the garnet and gold, and he continues to face them while a player in the New York Jets organization.

FSU fans know Travis ended his college career with an injury suffered against Northern Alabama in November 2023. It was his second season playing at a level reserved for the best quarterbacks in college.

It's why the New York Jets drafted him in April 2024 with a fifth-round selection, knowing he'd likely miss a large portion of the 2024 NFL season because of rehabbing from the injury.

However, the Aaron Rogers experience didn't go as planned, and apparently, the old coaching regime for the Jets felt the need to see if Jordan Travis could be the future since their season was essentially over.

According to the agent for Jordan Travis, the New York Jets tried to expedite his rehab process, which caused a setback and forced him to shut everything down.

I get it because the coaching staff was on the hot seat(and eventually got fired) and made a desperate move to attempt to save their jobs. The Jets are back in the market for a veteran quarterback, but Jordan Travis is eyeing the competition for the NFL 2025 season. His agent indicated he was optimistic Travis would be ready for the 2025 season while speaking to ESPN.

Jordan Travis is no stranger to QB competitions. He eventually took the job from James Blackman in the 2020 season before Mike Norvell brought in Mckenzie Milton from the transfer portal to compete. Travis won the job going into the 2021 season but had to stave off Milton as Travis battled a couple of injuries and sickness.

Mike Norvell took a huge gamble naming Travis the starter going into the 2022 season without much experience behind him and not taking a quarterback from the transfer portal. The gamble paid off in spades, as Travis led FSU to a 21-3 record from 2022 to his injury in 2023.

It's likely a longshot considering Travis hasn't played in a real game since 2023, but if he's healthy, I wouldn't bet against him.
