Find someone that loves you like Jordan Travis loves Mike Norvell.
And I don't say that sarcastically. Seriously, I applaud Travis' loyalty to Norvell and his consistency with placing the blame on the state of FSU football on anyone other than the head coach of the program that's making over $10 million a year.
The former FSU quarterback made his latest defense of the embattled coach on his 'Travis Take Two' podcast that he hosts with his brother, former MLB player Devon Travis.

Travis continues to point at the players
"Mike Norvell has done it before and he does have that championship mindset. Every single day he has that mindset. It's just getting the players to freakin' have the same mindset as him," Travis says,
So, what Travis is really saying is that Norvell has failed to get the players that he recruited to buy into his mindset. One of the key aspects of coaching is leadership and getting people to follow your lead. As the old saying goes, "a leader without followers is a guy taking a walk." These players didn't just offer themselves a scholarship to FSU. Norvell did that and if those players he recruited aren't following his message or mindset or don't believe in his vision, that's a failure at coaching.
Travis believes there are no capable replacements.
"What coach are we going to bring in that's better than Mike Norvell? That's my question," Travis asks,
So, the list of GOAT coaches is:
1) Nick Saban
2) Mike Norvell?
I'm not going to cherry-pick here, but there's probably a large handful of coaches that could go 22-25 in the ACC. That's a .468 winning percentage in the worst of the Power 4 conferences. That's slightly better than Willie Taggart's ACC record (6-9). And this is during a period in the conference when there are no legitimate title contenders.
Jimbo Fisher went 48-16 in the conference and that was at a time when Clemson was building a powerhouse. If you can't find a coach out there that can't go at least .500 in the ACC, go see an optometrist because you're probably blind.
Travis still believes Norvell = championships
"I think if there's a title [at FSU] in the near future it's because of Mike Norvell"Jordan Travis
What title is that? Maybe the trophy that comes with winning the LA Bowl presented by Rob Gronkowski or the Gasparilla Bowl? One ACC title in six years at Florida State and one American title in four years at Memphis isn't exactly filling a trophy case. Norvell is also 1-5 in bowl games, so maybe Travis was talking about that Cheez-It Bowl title.
I appreciate Travis' loyalty to Norvell. I understand his apprehension about going to games because he doesn't want to hear people disparage a coach that has meant so much to him. What he doesn't get is that most people do like Norvell, they just like winning football games more.
