The ACC Network will have their ACC Huddle pre-game show live from Tallahassee on Saturday and that means Jimbo Fisher will be back in Tallahassee.

Fisher coached FSU from 2010-2017, winning the BCS championship in 2013 and making the first college football playoff in 2014. He had an 83-23 record in Tallahassee with six seasons of 10 or more wins and three ACC championships. This is the first time Fisher has publicly returned to Tallahassee in a professional setting.

"It's very surreal... I've always loved Florida State. Florida State was home. I've got butterflies... I really do, just kinda dancing in my stomach as I'm coming back, because it meant so much to me. It's kind of nostalgic," Fisher said.

The conversation quickly turned to the 2025 FSU team and Fisher said that it's a talented group with an explosive offense. He said one thing that separates FSU's offense from others is that the Seminoles can execute the quarterback run game well and still throw the ball efficiently.

"I like this team. I really do. Unfortunately, I know they had a tough setback last week.... I was shocked a little bit at how we gave up some yards rushing. But that happens sometimes," Fisher added. "You can't have great victories without a little adversity and this is the perfect time... I think this game happens at a perfect time."

When the conversation flipped to Fisher's memories of the FSU-Miami game, he had so much to say. His memories of the games he coached in and the others he watched as a fan are still strong. But his first game in the series as a coach let Semnole fans know that Fisher was an absolute savage in rivalry games.

"Going down there in my first year as a head coach, it was my 45th birthday, and we scored 45 that day. And we were an underdog. We beat them 45-17 and [I thought], you know, we've got a pretty good team," Fisher said.

That game in 2010 was capped off by an amazing sequence. Chris Thompson took a carry from the 20 and rushed 80 yards for a touchdown, but the play was called back on a hold. So Fisher ran the same exact play and Thompson ran for 90 yards and the touchdown.

Like I said, Fisher was a savage in rivalry games. He went 7-1 against Miami and a combined 18-6 in games against Miami, Florida and Clemson during his tenure.
