Florida State football has had two straight losing seasons, which the fan base is not happy about. However, the administration elected to keep head coach Mike Norvell around for the 2026 season.
The Seminoles started on the right foot by beating Alabama in the opener by a score of 31-17 in Tallahassee, but it all went downhill then. The fan base is behind the program when it is winning, but Florida State has been stuck in mediocrity for the past decade.
The realization is that finances are an issue after suing the ACC, renovating Doak Campbell Stadium, and building a football-only facility. If they included a potential $100 million investment in firing Mike Norvell and hiring a new coach, it could be overwhelming.

The boosters want the best for the program. This is the place that the legendary Bobby Bowden built, which has a rich championship tradition. I have already been on record saying that On3's JD PicKell has become a villain of Florida State football with his negative content surrounding Florida State football.
PicKell used to be such a supporter of the program, but he has fallen under the direction of using his platform to speak negatively about the program. While I understand that the Seminoles are struggling, it doesn't mean that he has to kick them while they are down.
Wisconsin is a similar spot to the Seminoles, but head coach Luke Fickell and the Badgers don't draw as much attention as Florida State does. It is a bit of a spit in the face to Seminole Boosters to say that they don't have the investment from them.
To be honest, I believe that the boosters are very much involved, and it is a program that cares about its football team. Unfortunately, as I mentioned above, the Seminoles are having to cough up funds for several different expenses right now. This new landscape of college football is unsustainable, where it matters who is the highest bidder.
It is a shame that the program has to endure individuals who bring it down, but Florida State has to put its head down and prove the doubters wrong.
