Is 4-star OL target Mario Nash Jr. trending to the Noles?
Florida State's 2025 recruiting class has taken a hit since they have losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, SMU, and Clemson. The only saving grace of the season has been a victory over California (a team that Miami should have lost to over the weekend).
This is a Seminole football team that had so many expectations coming into the year, where they accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship. Florida State had to replace many of its key contributors which helped them elevate to new heights.
Florida State ranks as the 35th-best recruiting class in the 2025 247Sports Composite rankings. This is not where the program wants to be at the moment, as the expectation is to be a top-15 recruiting class (most fans want a top-ten, though).
The program recently had de-commitments from four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles, four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, and four-star wide receiver Malik Clark. Those were major losses for the future foundation of the team.
While they did secure four-star running back Byron Louis, they have to continue stacking talented pieces together to get back on the right track. Florida State had four-star offensive lineman target Mario Nash Jr. from Kemper County High School in De Kalb, Mississippi officially visited campus for the Seminoles' matchup versus Clemson.
Nash Jr. has built a good relationship with offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins. However, with the Seminoles' recent struggles on the field, it was difficult to predict if Florida State had a chance in the recruitment.
However, on Monday afternoon, Nash Jr. announced that he would be de-committing from Mississippi State. To make matters even better, Rivals' Sam Spigelman forecasted the offensive lineman to land at Florida State.
Is this what the Seminoles need to get their season turned back around? Their major goals and aspirations are down the drain, but the Seminoles can display growth and progress in fighting through levels of adversity as well as showcasing their younger players on the roster.
