Florida State has added several talented wide receivers to its roster over the past few years, but they all have one common denominator. They can’t seem to stay healthy, and a familiar face is dealing with the injury bug once again. Florida State head coach Mike Norvell announced that sophomore receiver Jayvan Boggs will miss the remainder of spring camp due to an injury.

There’s only a handful of practices left, including the final scrimmage, but it’s important reps that Boggs will miss. He was a standout freshman a year ago, who had a great spring, but injuries limited him to only nine games last year.

He had nine receptions for 103 yards and one touchdown. FSU returns Duce Robinson and Micahi Danzy in the receiver room, but the departure of Lawayne McCoy could mean a potential increased role for a healthy Jayvan Boggs.  It didn’t sound like the injury was anything serious, but it will be something to monitor.

Florida State will need its key players to stay healthy in 2026 if they want to have any chance to prove the doubters wrong.

In the meantime, FSU will turn to another young and talented player, legacy player Devin Carter, who has been turning heads early in spring camp. The injury to Boggs could mean more potential opportunities for Carter or another freshman like Jasen Lopez and EJ White. Redshirt receivers Tae’Shaun Gelsey and Teriq Mallory could also receive more reps and increase their opportunities.

Florida State has been relatively healthy through spring camp thus far. Here’s to hoping the Noles can escape the final week of spring camp without suffering any more injuries to key players.
