In 2024, FSU football finished the season 2-10 after going 13-0 in the regular season in 2023.
That's a catastrophic drop-off, but there are several reasons it happened. The loss of top talents Keon Coleman, Trey Benson, Johnny Wilson, and Jordan Travis is the main culprit. Not only were those guys NFL talents, but three had experience in Mike Norvell's offense.
FSU attempted to replace that talent and experience with guys from the transfer portal. DJ Uiagalelei wasn't 100 percent healthy, and the offensive line regressed to levels that may be the worst we've seen in our lifetimes.
I contend the offensive line was the main reason the offense fell to the levels it did. Uiagalelei wasn't good, but not having time to throw or any semblance of a running game compounds the issues.
I believe FSU has the offensive coordinator, offensive line coach, and pieces from the transfer portal to have at least a competent offensive line in 2025. ESPN's SP+ projects FSU to have a much-improved offense this year.
Here are five important areas FSU must improve offensively to bounce back in 2025.
