If there's a dark horse team to win the ACC Tournament, bet on FSU

It's a long shot, but would be a nice payout.

Florida State basketball finished the 2025-26 season as one of the hottest teams in college basketball. The Noles went 9-2 over their final 11 games and earned the No. 8 seed in the ACC Tournament. It’s their highest seed in the tournament since the 2020-21 season.

They will face the No. 9 seed California Bears in their first game. The Bears won the only matchup between the two teams earlier this year, a two-point victory that took place just as the Noles were finding their footing in the second half of the season.

That game will likely be a toss-up, but the winner will have an uphill climb taking on the No. 1 seed Duke Blue Devils in the next round. However, if FSU can get past California and Duke, the odds of winning the ACC Tournament would increase drastically.

It would be a tremendous ROI on your money if the Noles were to pull off the upset

Right now, FSU basketball is a +10000 betting underdog to win the ACC Tournament. That means if you bet $100 on FSU, you’d win $10,000 if they won the ACC Tournament. FSU and Duke faced off when FSU wasn’t playing great early in their conference schedule and lost 91-87. The game was tied 42-42 at halftime.

It's too far to project who they could face after Duke, but they are the prohibited favorite for a reason. North Carolina, NC State, Stanford, and Virginia are the only other teams FSU hasn't beaten this season.

The Noles are playing with a lot of confidence, but they'll need to get past the California Bears first. The game will tip-off on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
