Florida State football takes on the North Carolina State Wolfpack this Friday night in Carter Finley Stadium at 8PM EST on ESPN. This is a contest that the Seminoles have to play motivated for if the program wants to finish the season on a high note.

Florida State is coming off a 34-14 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday night in the final home game in Doak Campbell Stadium. The difficult part is that the Seminoles have not won a road game since the 2023 meeting against the arch-rival Florida Gators.

However, the Seminoles will be looking to reverse the trend in a place that has historically not been kind to a program that had championship expectations (that 2012 matchup still gives me PTSD).

WILL THE SEMINOLES BE UP TO THE CHALLENGE?

Florida State football fans have anxiety when thinking about traveling to Raleigh, North Carolina. It isn't because the stadium is one of the more intense environment, but it seems like the Seminoles never play well there.

It doesn't look like a recipe for success, as Florida State, who have lost three straight on the road to them. With the Seminoles' struggles on the road and a weird Friday night matchup (just like the Virginia contest), most fans imagined that Florida State would be underdogs in this one.

However, North Carolina State was just embarrassed by the Miami Hurricanes on the road by a score of 41-7. The Wolfpack have a 5-5 record now, just like the Seminoles. This makes individuals question if the program is in "quit mode" before Florida State comes to town.

Florida State opens up as 4.5-point favorites in the matchup against North Carolina State, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. This number could change drastically throughout the week, but the Seminoles look to be more determined to get a victory than they do.

Head football coach Mike Norvell and company will be playing for true freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard, who continues to fight to have a full recovery.
