Head basketball coach Luke Loucks has not had the most productive first season in Tallahassee, but the former Seminole is starting to generate momentum with his squad as they have won four of their last five games.

It isn't easy being a first-year head coach, especially when programs such as Duke and North Carolina take all of the shine. Former head coach Leonard Hamilton had a heck of a run given the circumstances before announcing his retirement.

Coach Loucks implemented a new style of basketball at Florida State, which included a high-pace offense and a ton of perimeter shooting. The issue is that he might not have had the players to run the scheme just yet. The good news is that he has the number one recruiting class coming in next year (if they stay firm in their commitments).

Florida State needs the crucial victory over top-25 opponent Virginia Cavaliers

Florida State is currently sitting with a 4-6 record in the conference and an 11-12 overall record. The Seminoles are nowhere near an NCAA Tournament squad, but they could use the confidence booster when it comes to building a foundation and ruin the seeding for other teams in the ACC.

It all starts in the Tucker Center against the No. 15 Virginia Cavaliers on Tuesday at 7 PM EST on ESPNU. The Seminoles are coming off an impressive road victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 82-79.

Forward Chauncey Wiggins has had two straight games with 20+ points and is 9-for-21 from three-point range combined (per ESPN Stats and Information). If the Seminoles want a chance in this one against the Cavaliers, Wiggins will have to play lights out.

Head coach Luke Loucks announced on Monday afternoon that he will be giving away alcoholic beverages to the first 500 students. This will allow the crowd at the Tucker Center to be electric for prime time matchup.

Coach Loucks is a legend in the student body's eyes for this. It is time for the narrative to change about Florida State basketball, and Tuesday night will be a great time to showcase it.
