I get it... Florida State football seems to take over the Seminoles' sports programs. That is the nature of the business, given that the sport generates a ton of revenue. However, the Seminoles finished with a 2-10 record in 2024 and it is time that other sports get their time to shine.
Florida State's women's basketball program has been undervalued by many of the fan base. The Seminoles possess a 13-2 record with losses only to Illinois and Tennessee.
Florida State has itself a bucket-getter in junior guard Ta'Niya Latson. The Miami, Florida native has averaged 27.9 points per game. She is shooting 45.1% from three-point range. Latson just isn't someone who scores as her defense is also impressive in 2024 where she averages 2.7 steals per game.
Latson has been lighting up the scoreboard where she has scored 30+ points in four of the past six games. She is one of the more underrated talking points in women's college basketball. The dynamic athlete is 1st in the NCAA in points per game. Latson was named ACC Player of the Week for her performances this past week (her third time this year).
Florida State will go out west to play Stanford this Thursday. The Cardinal has not performed that well this year as they are only 8-6 on the season. Latson and the Seminoles will be trying to extend their five-game winning streak.
Be sure to show some love and support to the women's basketball team as they attempt to make some noise in the national landscape.
