TYRESE HALIBURTON INJURY
I realize that this is a ChopChat site that features Florida State athletics. However, I couldn't help but give my heartwarming thoughts and best wishes to Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton as he suffered an Achilles injury in Game 7 of the NBA Finals versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Haliburton has been a rising star in the league, where he averaged 18.6 points per game. He made his presence known in the biggest games of his career, which he recorded nine early points in the first quarter.
Unfortunately, the talented guard suffered an apparent Achilles injury with five minutes left to go in the first quarter. You could see Haliburton visibly in pain as he lay face down on the court, writhing in pain as he knew what had transpired.
Even if you aren't a Pacers fan, you cannot help but hate that it happened to the young man.
JORDAN TRAVIS INJURY PTSD
Why am I mentioning an Indiana Pacers player? Well... Florida State football fans know what it is like to have your star player go down with an injury when quarterback Jordan Travis suffered an apparent lower-body injury versus North Alabama on Senior Night in Doak Campbell Stadium.
The undefeated Seminoles eventually went on to be left out of the College Football Playoff in favor of a one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide. While I don't need to keep reliving the past of the snub, I will say that I couldn't help but feel sorry for the Pacers as they tried to capture their first NBA championship since 1973.
The Haliburton injury has to be difficult to swallow because those types of incidents are hard to come back from. While it wasn't Achilles, it was devastating to see that Travis couldn't make his NFL dream become a reality due to the fact that his leg never recovered.
We at ChopChat are thinking of Tyrese Haliburton at this time and hope that he has a speedy recovery.
