Jasen Lopez is continuing to get noticed as a top recruit. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound wide receiver has remained under-the-radar, but things are changing by the week.
The FSU commitment had a breakout performance against St. Frances Academy last month and ESPN high school recruiting writers Craig Haubert and Billy Tucker have taken notice by listing Lopez among the most exciting recruits in the nation.
Florida State has been one of the best teams in the country this season and they’ve got a big-time talent on the way in WR Jasen Lopez @JasenL_7

Haubert and Tucker mention that most of FSU's top receivers in the Mike Norvell era have been transfers, but Lopez presents a good opportunity to have a standout pass catcher built within the program.
""The last great homegrown Florida State receiver is arguably 2011 signee Rashad Greene. Lopez is a sleeper who could change that. A two-sport star with legitimate college basketball potential, Lopez is an explosive athlete who creates separation and racks up yards after the catch. He also has a long track record of production for south Florida powerhouse Chaminade-Madonna. That adds up to a potential breakout target in Florida State's passing attack, especially if he narrows his focus to football."Craig Haubert & Billy Tucker, ESPN.com

FSU building WR depth through recruiting
Wide receiver has been a big focus for FSU in the 2026 class. Four-star legacy prospect Devin Carter is the highest-rated offensive player in the class. The Douglasville, Georgia prospect is the son of former Seminoles running back Dexter Carter.

The class also includes four-star in-state prospects Brandon Bennett (Fort Lauderdale) and Efrem White (Vero Beach). White has shown the ability to be an all-around athlete, playing both ways and even lining up at quarterback.
Two weeks ago, Jonah Winston, younger brother of Jameis Winston, committed to the Seminoles after watching them beat Alabama. Another 3-star in-state prospect, Darryon Williams (Tampa), rounds out the group.
