Florida State women's basketball team did not end the season the way that it wanted to as it lost the regular season finale versus Duke at home by a score of 71-57 then lost in their first game of the ACC Tournament to North Carolina by a score of 60-56.

Both Duke and North Carolina were ranked in the top 25, but it left a bad taste in their mouths as they looked to elevate their seeding in the NCAA Tournament and create some momentum. Unfortunately, injuries and inconsistency on the offensive and defensive ends played a role in the Seminoles being awarded a No. 6 seed.

The Seminoles had a productive victory on Saturday versus No. 11 seed George Mason where they won by a score of 94-59. Florida State had four players in double-digits as guard Ta'Niya Latson led all scorers with 28 points and shot 8/16 from the field and 11/14 from the free throw line.

Latson will need to continue to get to the free throw line as Florida State prepares to take on the No. 3 seed LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana today at 6:00 PM EST on ESPN.

It won't be easy as this will virtually be a home game for the Tigers. It could be difficult for the Seminoles to get foul calls from the referees as the road team. As it stands, Florida State has to find a way to get stops and get out on the fast break to start their offense. Forward Makayla Timpson will have to have success protecting the paint versus LSU when they are driving to the basket.

It won't be easy for Florida State as they have to contain three dynamic scorers that average over 17 points per game in guards Flau'Jae Johnson and Mikaylah Williams as well as forward Aneesah Morrow.

Be sure to tune in to watch the Seminoles' matchup tonight on ESPN. It should be a great game!
