The Florida State Seminoles will host the No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on ABC, and the announcers will be:

  • Play-by-Play: Joe Tessitore
  • Analyst: Jesse Palmer
  • Sideline: Katie George

I can't wait to hear how much this team glazes all over Alabama the entire game, and talk about how tough their SEC schedule is this year.

Odds

FSU enters the game as a +13.5 betting underdog, and the over/under points total is 50.5, according to FanDuel.com. I discussed whether there was value in betting FSU at these numbers on Monday. These numbers have held steady for a while, and it'll be interesting to see if they start to move the closer we get to the game.

Injuries

FSU is relatively healthy going into the matchup. Lawayne McCoy and Kevin Wynn will miss the game, but both were probably going to play reserve roles at best. Alabama’s starting running back will miss the game and one of their offensive linemen is questionable.

Weather

The weather will be typical Florida weather at the end of August. It’ll be warm and humid with a decent chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Let’s just hope there are no lightning delays.

Series History

The two teams haven’t played often throughout the years. Alabama leads the all-time series 3-1-1. They last faced another in the 2017 season opener, with Alabama defeating FSU 24-7, taking advantage of several FSU special team miscues. The lone win for the Noles was when Bobby Bowden defeated Nick Saban in his first year as the Alabama head coach in 2007.

We'll be breaking down the matchup all week. Be sure to stay locked in to Chopchat for more news and analysis.
