FSU softball failed to meet several of its team goals in 2024. They didn't win the ACC regular season or ACC Tournament and didn't reach the Women's College World Series, falling to eventual champion Oklahoma in the Super Regionals.

However, if you gave everyone some truth serum, I think most would say it was a successful season, considering how the season unfolded. FSU needed the freshmen to carry the load in several areas, and they answered the call in spades. Jaysoni Beachum, Isa Torres, and Ashtyn Danley were massive contributors at the plate and inside the circle.

FSU had injuries to two key contributors inside the circle, and Kayley Mudge was less than 100 percent for much of the year. FSU had a daunting schedule and had to navigate much of it without two of its best pitchers, relying on freshman Ashtyn Danley for over 142 innings. There were growing pains, but in the end, FSU will likely be a better team in 2025 because of it.

FSU returns much of its offensive firepower from last year. Danley and Makenna Reid will return inside the circle, plus FSU added some major help from the transfer portal. The 2025 schedule isn't quite as daunting as years past, and FSU should be in the mix deep into the postseason if everything holds. Here are three major questions for the 2025 season.
