FSU basketball coach Luke Loucks got his first two signees from the transfer portal over the weekend. However, he made his first big splash with the addition of a Clemson transfer, Chauncey Wiggins.

Wiggins is 6'10" and averaged 8.3 ppg, 2.9 rebounds, and shot 36.5 percent from the three-point line. He averaged 24 minutes per game for the Tigers in 2024. Wiggins joins Kobe Magee and Lajae Jones from in Tallahassee from the transfer portal.

FSU basketball received more positive news with sophomore forward AJ Swinton announcing he would return to FSU next year.

Swinton was a reserve, averaging 10.5 minutes and 36 percent from the three-point line. That makes four guys shooting at least 36 percent or better from long-range. FSU basketball has several more guys finishing up official visits who could join the fold soon.

FSU softball put a whipping on the rival Florida Gators, shutting them out 4-0 behind a four RBI, two home run performance from Jahni Kerr. Ashtyn Danley and Annabelle Widra combined for the four-hit shutout.

FSU jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after Ashtyn Danley got out of a bases loaded one out jam in the top of the inning. It was the 14th consecutive win and fifth consecutive win when facing a ranked opponent. The Noles will host the Virginia Cavaliers this weekend and look to continue its streak of consecutive ACC series sweeps. The Cavaliers (26-10, 7-5 ACC) are not a terrible team, but have only gone 2-6 on the road this season.

Alex Lodise won a major mid-year award on Wednesday after another huge night on Tuesday. Lodise is the Perfect Game Mid-Year Player of the Year. He also won D1Baseball's Mid-Season Top Player Award.

These are well-deserved awards for a player who's arguably the best offensive AND defensive player combined nationally.

FSU will need him to have a big weekend when they host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for a three-game series.
