FSU pursuing Desir brothers after de-commitment from UCF football
Florida State's 2025 recruiting class has slowly faded as the Seminoles are sitting with a 1-8 record. It won't get any easier as the program has to face Notre Dame today.
Florida State fans were excited about the 2024 season in the offseason, where they thought that accomplishing a conference championship game berth and a potential spot in the College Football Playoff was realistic.
However, that thought process fell flat on their face as the Seminoles suffered loss after loss. It has been so difficult that the fan base has lost track of the losses.
Nonetheless, we are here at this point. The recruiting class is ranked as the 48th-best in the 2025 247Sports Composite rankings. It has been hard to sell the product on the field as a positive for future recruits that want to be part of the program.
The Seminoles have seen his recruiting class take a hit as prospects such as four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley, four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon, four-star wide receiver Malik Clark, four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles, and four-star defensive end Javion Hilson.
Florida State couldn't afford to lose prospects such as those calibers, especially Charles and Hilson. It is vitally important to secure recruits in the defensive trenches. That is part of the reason why I believe that the Seminoles are struggling now because they failed to recruit the trenches on offense and defense.
There could be positive aspects coming for the Seminoles as Class of 2025 three-star defensive linemen Mandrell and Darryll Desir (they are brothers) from Miami Norland High School in Miami, Florida, have de-committed from the UCF Knights.
The Desir brothers have been pledged to the Knights since July. However, they are now wanting to look around in their recruitment. I was informed by Mandrell Desir that they will be officially visiting Florida State on November 23th when the Seminoles take on Charleston Southern.
It is a smart idea to have both of the pass rushers coming in against Charleston Southern, given how the season has gone for Florida State. The coaching staff needs to get both of them in the 2025 recruiting class.
