Just poor play all around.

Florida State lost 24-10 against the Clemson Tigers on Saturday night. FSU managed to score 10 points against a Clemson defense that allowed 46 points last week against Duke. How is that possible? We thought you’d never ask.

FSU had a turnover in the red zone, multiple dropped passes on explosive plays, and some poor throws from Thomas Castellanos.

We wrote about how FSU’s offense is best when Castellanos is between 15-20 pass attempts. He had 35+ against Clemson on Saturday night. This loss is squarely on the offense failing to perform anywhere close to its potential.

Their inability to capitalize in key situations took away from the FSU defense playing fairly well against an offense that was a bad matchup for them.

Fans want to blame the performance on coaching, but that wasn’t the issue. These drops were not from players who routinely drop passes. Randy Pittman caught the same exact pass he dropped for an explosive play in the fourth quarter. However, at the end of the day, Mike Norvell didn’t have these guys ready to play in a pivotal game that could determine his future.

It’s a clear trend with Mike Norvell-led teams who play on the road. FSU should have fired Mike Norvell after the Stanford loss. A double-digit loss to one of the worst Clemson teams in the last 15 years should be another clear sign that a change has to be made at the top.

The players didn’t quit and tried, but it’s not good enough. Hopefully, the FSU administration is working behind the scenes to make a move to bring better days back to Tallahassee. This is pathetic.
