FSU football led the Virginia Tech Hokies 10-7 at halftime, but the second half was all FSU, as they scored touchdowns on their first three offensive possessions to take a commanding lead halfway through the fourth quarter. FSU eventually won 34-14.

FSU marched down the field on its first offensive possession in the third quarter and had to settle for a field goal, but an offsides penalty on Virginia Tech gave the Noles new life. FSU converted on a fourth and inches and scored a touchdown on a Thomas Castellanos rushing touchdown to make it 17-7.

The FSU defense forced a fumble on Virginia Tech’s next offensive possession after the Hokies had gotten into FSU territory. Randy Pittman Jr. scored on a rushing touchdown to make it 24-7. It looked like the Hokies were about ready to quit, but that FSU defense wouldn’t allow it.

Kyron Drones threw a touchdown pass on a slant route on third down to cut the lead to 24-14. The FSU offense answered the call after the second excellent kickoff return in the game by Jaylin Lucas. The Noles marched 61 yards on seven plays, capped off by a 15-yard touchdown run by Thomas Castellanos to push the lead to 31-14.

The FSU defense forced a turnover on downs on Virginia Tech’s next possession, and the FSU offense settled for a field goal after getting the ball on the Virginia Tech 33-yard line. Jake Weinberg made a 34-yard field goal to push the lead to 34-14 with 4:12 remaining.

Duce Robinson had six receptions for 134 yards and the touchdown. Thomas Castellanos was 12 of 24 for 189 yards and a touchdown. He also had seven rushes for 45 yards and two touchdowns. FSU is one win away from becoming bowl-eligible.
