Florida State football recruiting for the 2025 cycle has taken a massive hit lately given that the Seminoles have a 1-5 record so far in 2024.

It is difficult to sell a vision to recruits when head football coach Mike Norvell has been there for five years and this is the result of the result of the product coming off a 13-1 season where they accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship.

Florida State has already seen de-commitments from four-star wide receiver Malik Clark, four-star wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon, four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles, and four-star defensive end Javion Hilson. There could be more if the losing continues.

It was a blow to lose the pledges of Charles and Hilson due to them being defensive linemen that the Seminoles desperately need. The only defensive lineman that Florida State has committed to the program now is four-star defensive tackle Kevin Wynn.

While Wynn is a very talented prospect, you would like Florida State to get at least four recruits in the defensive line for the cycle. It should be easier to sell the production given the play of former players such as Jermaine Johnson, Keir Thomas, Braden Fiske, Jared Verse as well as current players like Patrick Payton and Joshua Farmer.

Florida State extended an offer to Class of 2025 three-star defensive lineman Christian Ingram from Newton High School in Covington, Georgia.

Ingram is listed at 6'5" and 280 pounds. He has received offers from schools such as Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Colorado, and Florida. Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins offered him, so it looks like defensive tackle would be the position he is wanted at Florida State.

I believe that Florida State should have gotten involved here earlier before his recruitment started to heat up. Kentucky and Vanderbilt are already setting up official visits with him. However, with that being said, it is good to see that the Seminoles are at least expanding their recruiting board.
