FSU football signed one of the top prep running backs during the Early Signing Period in December 2024 when Ousmane Kromah flipped his commitment from the Georgia Bulldogs to the Noles.
It was arguably the biggest win for Mike Norvell after a disastrous 2024 season. That win may have been amplified when the Noles hired Gus Malzahn as their new offensive coordinator.
Malzahn loves to establish the running game and will have a top-flight talent in Kromah. The only problem is that Ousmane Kromah wasn't an early enrollee and didn't arrive in Tallahassee until this summer.
That hasn't stopped him from making his presence felt in practice, and the coaches have already stated he'll be a part of the offense in 2025 as a true freshman. How big a part likely depends on how quickly he learns the offense and all the nuances of pass protections and plays in the passing game.

Ousmane Kromah announced a major goal to accomplish before the Alabama game. He stated, "This game [Alabama] is something I've dreamed about....by the time that game comes, I'm know the whole offense. Coach Yac is gonna make sure that I do."
That's a lot of information to process, but Kromah mentioned his high school offense is very similar to the running plays in Guz Malzahn's offense. The biggest difference between high school and college is having patience. It's something the great Dalvin Cook struggled with as a freshman.
Kromah mentioned he's still learning to see how plays set up and allow things to develop before making a move, whereas in high school he could get the ball and let his physical talent take over.
Mike Norvell praised Kromah for a pass protection rep in the first scrimmage, and he scored a couple of goal line touchdowns in the second scrimmage. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a major part in the offseason as we get closer to the midway point of the season.
