Parting Thoughts
The better the defensive line play, the easier it makes things for the secondary. FSU is young in the secondary, but several guys gained experience last year, and Shyheim Brown returns at safety.
FSU has done a great job acquiring talented guys in its secondary over the past two or three recruiting classes. There's blue-chip talent everywhere, and FSU has coaches for defensive backs AND safeties.
Adam Fuller acted as the defensive coordinator and worked with the safeties, with Patrick Surtain coaching the defensive backs.
The fact two coaches will have total command of those guys and the safety coach (Evan Cooper) has worked with Tony White before is a plus.
It looks like the coaches are cool with going through spring camp to assess if they need another guy or not. If I were to add someone, it would be at safety because they play a vital role in the run game.
However, if they don't get anyone from the portal, they must like what they have and have confidence in the guys up front.
