If you followed last week's post for the game against the Duke Blue Devils, you'd know two of the three long-shot bets had a good shot to win. FSU wide receiver caught a pass inside the 10-yard line and only had to beat one guy to score a touchdown and got tackled. The FSU offense gave up a pick-six and lost by a touchdown, otherwise, they would probably win the game by 1-6 points. Those bets were for +500 and +330. If you hit one of them you're in the black for profit.
We didn't, but that's gambling and why you should gamble responsibly. We're back for the rivalry game between FSU and Miami, and the Hurricanes are massive betting favorites. Nobody expects FSU to win the game or to remain relatively competitive. However, crazy things tend to happen in rivalry games. Since FSU likely won't win, let's see if we can hit a long-shot bet:
Ja'Khi Douglas Anytime TD +270
Douglas has played well against Miami in recent years and is the most sure-handed FSU receiver. Miami struggles to cover in its secondary, and Mike Norvell is great at matching up Douglas on safeties. I could see Douglas scoring a touchdown against a linebacker or safety in coverage. If you bet $100, the return would win $270.
Hykeem Willams 50+ Receiving Yards +280
I keep going back to the well with Hykeem Williams. The former five-star recruit dropped a big pass in the Duke game that would have gone for big yardage and potentially a touchdown. Miami is a team that recruited him hard out of high school, and I'm sure he'll have the motivation to prove his worth. FSU will likely be down big in this game and will air it out, so he'll have some opportunities against a suspect secondary. If you bet $100, the return would win $280.
Miami to Win By 11-20 points +330
Miami has been as high as a -21 betting favorite. I could easily see Miami blowing the Noles out. When things seem like they should be automatic, they never pan out in the betting game. This could be one of those times where the FSU defense is just good enough to hold Miami to field goals on a few possessions, and Miami's defense allows a few big plays to keep FSU in range. A 35-17 score would be a winner. If you bet $100, the return would be $330.
Bonus bets. Miami winning by 21-20 is +260, and 31-40 is +420. Odds via Fanduel.
