I wrote about how Mike Norvell firing some staff members and making quality new hires is already paying dividends for the Noles. The coaching staff had a big recruiting event over the weekend, targeting players from the 2026 class and beyond.
The recruiting game has changed drastically in the NIL era, and getting guys on campus doesn't mean what it used to, but it's still a good sign after a disastrous 2-10 season.
The FSU coaching staff had a good share of some top players on campus, and they seem to have good vibes as they posted about their visits on social media:
2026 four star LB Xavier Griffin was on campus. The USC commit is the No. 19 player nationally and hails from Gainesville, Georgia.
2026 four-star OL Canon Pickett posted his picture with Mike Norvell. He hails from Tampa Bay Tech HS in Tampa, Florida. He already has 26 offers.
2026 four star DE Trenton Henderson visited FSU and is the No. 68 player nationally. He hails from Pensacola Catholic HS in Pensacola, Florida.
2026 four star DE Zavion Griffin-Hayes was on campus and said FSU improved their chances to land him after his first visit. He's the No. 121 player nationally and hails from Rolesville, NC. His brother was also on the visit and is a recruiting target.
2026 three star OL JJ Sparks enjoyed his visit. He's an interior guy from Jacksonville, Florida.
2026 four star safety Lasiah Jackson posts his picture with Mike Norvell. He's the No. 226 player overall and hails from Leesburg, Georgia.
Four star cornerback Samari Matthews posts his picture with Mike Norvell. He's the No. 57 player nationally and hails from Hough HS in Cornelius, NC.
This isn't anywhere near all of the players who came, but it's a good sign moving forward. FSU will ultimately have to prove they are a different team on the field, but getting guys on campus to sell the new vision is always a positive.
