FSU football: Score prediction/analysis for Florida State versus Duke game
Florida State football will be taking on the Duke Blue Devils on Friday night in an unusual kickoff. The Seminoles have struggled this year as they have a combined 1-5 record with losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, SMU, and Clemson.
Head football coach Mike Norvell was thought to have this squad skyrocketing after they accomplished an undefeated regular season and a conference championship in 2023. However, this team has come down to Earth in a free falling nature.
Florida State will be trotting out redshirt freshman quarterback Brock Glenn for a second straight start after veteran DJ Uiagalelei broken his finger on his throwing hand. The offense showcased some improvements in their loss to the Clemson Tigers. However, it is still a work in progress.
As for the defense, they have talented pieces in the unit but the youth movement has not shown itself much as many of the veterans are still playing. Overall, Florida State needs to find out what the squad consists of as the 2025 season inches closer and closer.
Duke enters the game with a 5-1 record after suffering their first loss to Georgia Tech by a score of 24-14. The Blue Devils have transfer quarterback Malik Murphy, who has played admirably when passing the football. However, he does not pose as a running threat as he accumulated nine carries for -54 yards.
Florida State had a bye week after losing to Clemson. The offense has only scored 20+ points once all season when they lost to Georgia Tech by a score of 24-21. Head football coach Mike Norvell is considered as one of the best playcallers in all of college football (some of the fan base doesn't think so).
I believe that the Seminoles get enough offensive firepower to get the job done on the road.
