FSU FOOTBALL

There is a ton of excitement surrounding Florida State football's season opener versus Alabama on Saturday, August 30th at 3:30 PM EST on ABC. The Seminoles want to turn the page on a terrible 2024 campaign, which finished with a 2-10 record.

Florida State has added forty-four recruits and transfers this offseason to its roster, so it will be a completely different team that was on the field last season. That isn't the only aspect that the fan base is excited to see.

DOAK CAMPBELL STADIUM

Doak Campbell Stadium has been under renovation for over a year and a half. Some of the fan base are angry about the fact that they will have to move from their seats that they have had for years. Plus, individuals don't want the stadium to lose more seats. They would prefer that Florida State have over 80,000 capacity ,like it used to.

However, that isn't the case now as the Seminoles announced on their media guide for the 2025 season that Doak Campbell Stadium's new attendance FSU football's media guide highlights capacity of the newly renovated Doak Campbell at 67,277.

Here is the link to the full media guide (information about the stadium is on page 203).

THOUGHTS

I will admit that I thought the number could be even worse than that. This is something that I know the fans will complain about. I don't believe that Doak Campbell Stadium will take a hit for being as loud.

I know that Florida State had to be ADA compliant with its code for infrastructure. While I wouldn't mind sitting on a bleacher and allowing myself to choose between that or buying an attached chair back, I realize that some fans value comfort.

I believe that there is nothing like seeing a game in Doak Campbell Stadium, and I feel like individuals should experience it at least once in their lifetime, especially Chief Osceola and Renegade planting the spear at midfield in pre-game.
