FSU football's biggest ESPN analyst naysayer is bullish on the program in 2025

Greg McElroy is back with more comments on the Florida State football team.

We all know what transpired in 2023 as the undefeated Florida State Seminoles were left out of the four-team College Football Playoff in favor of a one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide. This incident likely played a pivotal role in how the 2024 squad performed (even enough 2-10 is unacceptable).

He was one of the biggest supporters for the Seminoles during the 2023 season, continuously advocating for the program to be in the playoffs if they win even after superstar quarterback Jordan Travis suffered his season-ending injury.

ESPN has been known to show favoritism towards the SEC and Big Ten (and even individual teams). This is effectively why Florida State wants to leave the ACC. To be honest, I don't blame them, especially when they are $30 million per year behind the competition in revenue.

Anyways, after McElroy put in his support for the Seminoles, his tone changed on the day of Selection Sunday where he stated that he did not believe that Florida State deserved to be in the College Football Playoffs. I am all for individuals having their own opinions, but it seemed odd that he changed everything that he stated before on the final decision day.

Florida State football fans have let McElroy hear their displeasure of him as they consistently rate his "Always College Football" podcast as a one-star review to get him off the spotlight.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback is back at it again this offseason as he stated that he is "bullish" on Florida State football in 2025.

Here is the link to his advocating for Florida State.

It is easy to see the possibility of the Seminoles improving in 2025, considering that they only won two games last year. They can only go up from here, but the major changes that head football coach Mike Norvell made by bringing in Gus Malzahn, Thomas Castellanos, and Tony White have McElroy curious about what Florida State has to offer next year.

Trust me, if Florida State has a productive season in 2025, the fan base will be letting Greg McElroy and his ESPN colleagues have it. I cannot wait to see the Seminoles perform.
