FSU football: Noles are big underdogs versus the Miami Hurricanes
Florida State football has struggled mightily this season as they tried to live up to the expectations of last year after accomplishing an undefeated regular season and conference championship.
However, the coaching staff has seen their acquisitions from the transfer portal not do much of anything. The fan base is in disarray as the program has had its fair share of struggled since former football coach Jimbo Fisher left the program for Texas A&M in 2017.
The Seminoles have officially at rivalry week versus the hated Miami Hurricanes. This was supposed to be the DJ Uiagalelei versus Cam Ward showdown. However, this season has been a disaster for Florida State and Uiagalelei is likely out for the remainder of the 2024 season.
It is funny how good quarterback play can do wonders for the success of a team. Quarterback Cam Ward has played well for the Hurricanes this year as they currently possess an undefeated record.
The Hurricanes are coming off a sensational 52-45 victory over Louisville. This is now the third straight game where Miami has had a one possession contest. Virginia Tech should have won on a Hail Mary and California blew a massive lead late in the third quarter.
Nonetheless, Florida State cannot focus on what transpired Friday night versus Duke. They have to continue getting better. The program has to be consistent enough on both sides of the football and do whatever it takes to secure a victory.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Florida State is listed as 18.5-point underdogs versus Miami. This squad has to eventually get off the high level of disappointment. I beg the football gods that it comes against the Hurricanes.
For reference, the Seminoles have defeated Miami three years in a row. I hope that head football coach Mike Norvell has something up his sleeve to make it four.
