FSU football needs to stop talking about the response and go do it against Wake

Response is an overused phrase by this program.

BOUNCE BACK TIME FOR FSU FOOTBALL

The term "response" has been tossed around the Florida State football program throughout the tenure of head football coach Mike Norvell. However, it is time for the words to turn into actions, as Norvell currently has a 36-31 record in Tallahassee.

This isn't the expectation at Florida State, which has its football program that has an ultimate goal of competing for conference and national championships. To make matters worse, this is a squad that just went 2-10 last year.

WHAT CAN FSU FOOTBALL DO DIFFERENTLY?

This is a situation where I realize that the Florida State football fan base wants to fire Norvell. However, Athletic Director Michael Alford mentioned that they were committed to helping Coach Norvell and the Seminoles rebound.

The issue that arises with their statement is that it will be an uphill battle to have Florida State rebound. This is the Seminoles that we are referring to, but this is also a program that is 1-11 in its last twelve conference games. What makes anyone think that they could win out for the remainder of the year and get back on track?

This is a situation where they have to look themselves in the mirror and get out of their own way. It isn't to say that the Seminoles cannot win out, but it will be challenging.

Responding to adverse situations hasn't gotten the program far over the last couple of years. Maybe it is time for Florida State to put its head down, go to work, and let the actions do the talking. This is a talented team that defeated a very good Alabama squad in the opener. It should be common sense to want to respond positively after a loss. Now they have to go do it.
