Florida State football's 2024 season has been filled with so many disappointments. Honestly, I have lost count of the number of failures that the Seminoles have been successfully handed.

The negatives just keep happening as the Seminoles were blown out by North Carolina this past Saturday at home to North Carolina by a score of 35-11. Florida State falls to a 1-8 record where it becomes increasingly difficult to write about the squad.

When it rains, it pours for Seminole fans...

Florida State had the successes of the 2023 season, then had to suffer through the injury of quarterback Jordan Travis, watch backups Tate Rodemaker and Brock Glenn perform, go undefeated just to be left out of the College Football Playoff, reload the roster after several contributors went to the NFL, and now have to witness a train wreck of a product in 2024.

Most of the fan base is waiting for the clock to hit 0:00 on Florida State's season. Some individuals are more invested in the men's and women's basketball teams (both started their seasons with wins, which has tied football's win total on the year).

I never thought that we would see the day, but here we are. I cannot quite pinpoint the exact reason behind the Seminoles' struggles. However, major changes are needed to turn this ship in the right direction.

Florida State has dealt with a variety of injuries this year. Unfortunately, the Seminoles' fan base had to watch linebacker Justin Cryer hurt on the field as he was injured on a goal-line stand attempt in the endzone. He had to be carted off.

Cryer was a productive linebacker for the program in his second season, as he accumulated 32 total tackles (two for loss) and one interception. The defender went to Instagram and posted the following picture tagging "illbeback".

Head football coach Mike Norvell did not indicate that Cryer would be out for the remainder of the year, so it could be a good sign that the linebacker will continue his development and we could see him back for the game against arch-rival Florida.

Nonetheless, I hope that Cryer gets back to full strength shortly because he is a talented player.
