Defensive Improvement

Duke has the No. 62 ranked defense via FEI advanced metrics in 2022. That defense improved to No. 27 in 2023 under Elko and Santucci. The Georgia Tech defense ranked No. 77 nationally before Santucci arrived, and ranks No. 48 through 10 games in 2024.

More importantly, his defense has gotten better as the season has progressed, as evident by holding a potent Miami defense to only 23 points in a huge upset win a week ago. That's half of what Miami has averaged per game this year.

Georgia Tech has two games remaining in the regular season against NC State and Georgia. The game against Georgia will provide a great barometer of what his defense could look like against one of the most talented offenses nationally.

We must consider Georgia Tech's roster isn't filled with high NFL Draft picks, and nearly a 30-spot improvement over the previous season is impressive.
