When it comes to FSU football and fall camp, the coaches closed practices to local media members(a move we agree with). However, they have been releasing some video footage clips on social media to highlight some of the work the players are getting in.
Mike Norvell mentioned players like Elijah Moore, Jayvan Boggs, Gavin Sawchuk, and others after a recent practice. We understand it's hard to gauge much from short video snippets without full context. However, some of the throws and receptions we see in the video below has FSU football fans hyped on social media:

It was mostly young players, highlighting there's a talented nucleus to continue building the foundation if they have a successful season on the field in 2025. Lawayne McCoy, Kevin Sperry, the Desir twins, and others look good on video.
I think that's the most exciting part, because most folks have written FSU football off after the disastrous 2024 season. I don't think they're aware of how much young talent the team has stockpiled, with several getting valuable reps as freshmen last year once it was clear the season was a wash.

Mike Norvell seems to be all business through three fall practices, and the mixture of transfer players and young guys seem to be meshing well.
Aside from good injury luck, the players learning to trust and play for one another will be the biggest key to their success. I think some FSU fans are beginning to understand the schedule isn't that daunting and the team has a shot to surprise a lot of folks.
FSU will have the first of two scrimmages over the next few days, and the depth chart should begin to take shape. Stay tuned to Chopchat for the latest in coverage and analysis!
