UCF tight end Randy Pittman is someone Mike Norvell and Chris Thomsen knew because he's a former FSU commit who signed with Malzahn at UCF.
FSU had to rely on true freshmen Landen Thomas and Amaree Williams for production at the position in 2024. Pittman has had consistent production in Gus Malzahn's offense each of his first two seasons at UCF.
He's not the largest tight end and reminds me of former FSU tight end Jaheim Bell in 2023. His familiarity with Malzahn's offense should make him an instant contributor.
Pittman is a playmaker who could excel as teams focus on other receivers FSU will have out there. He averaged about three receptions for 30-40 yards last season.
He can also take Landen Thomas and Chase Loftin under his wing and help them develop in the offense quickly.
Pittman has two years of eligibility remaining, which provides stability until the young guys come along.
