Vanderbilt's Gunnar Hansen was the first offensive lineman new FSU offensive line coach Herb Hand and FSU offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn took from the transfer portal.
He was just what the doctor ordered, as a veteran offensive lineman who has competed against great competition.
It was funny to watch FSU fans worry about if he would sign with FSU or not. He announced his commitment but had to wait for some academic stuff from Vanderbilt to get processed before FSU could announce him officially.
Hansen has posted great pass-blocking grades in several games and has well over 2,000 snaps played in his career.
He's not elite, but will be an instant starter and should give the young offensive linemen a great blueprint as to what it's supposed to look like. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
