James Williams was one of the most coveted players by the new FSU defensive coaches at a position of need. Williams doesn't have a ton of production, but I gave him an "A" grade for several reasons.

He has two years in Tony White's defensive scheme and showed a noticeable jump in production between years one and two in a limited sample set.

He has leadership qualities, and one of the first things he did when he arrived in Tallahassee was hit the weight room and worked on pass-rushing drills.

As mentioned, the defensive end position needed depth, and Williams has three years of eligibility remaining.

He doesn't play soft and plays with emotion, which is one reason the defensive coaches like him so much.

The "A" grade is more of a projection of what he could become, with the expectation he'll help FSU right away in 2025.
