Parting Thoughts
FSU head coach Mike Norvell said they were going to fix things quickly, and this Winter Transfer Portal Class is a good sign he'll make good on his word.
I keep going back to how much dead weight FSU got off of its roster over the past month, and how much experience and production they've added.
They've gotten bigger and longer in the trenches. They've added experience, size, and production at the linebacker spot. They've added size and consistency at the wide receiver/tight end positions.
FSU added four guys who will likely start on its offensive line and a guy in Thomas Castellanos who fits the offense nearly perfectly. We can't measure the intangibles like leadership, work ethic, and if the players will hold one another accountable.
However, with a new coaching staff, it should be easier to set and maintain those standards since it's a blank slate. I'm excited for the upcoming 2025 season, and I think FSU far exceeded what most thought they were capable of after such a disastrous 2024 season.
It's a testament to the FSU brand and FSU's willingness to spend money to rectify what they did wrong last year.
