FSU football has a forgettable 2024 season that nobody saw coming. Nobody expected the team to repeat the 2023 undefeated season, but a 2-10 campaign made it the most disappointing and longest season in my lifetime.

The good news? The issues were easy to spot in hindsight. The offensive line regressed again with Alex Atkins as the offensive line coach and offensive coordinator.

DJ Uiagalelei's skillset was not equipped to offset the offensive line regression, and the skill position players were nowhere close to what they needed to be from a production standpoint.

Defensively, FSU had no pass rush, played undisciplined, and lacked physicality.

Many of the issues that caused that collapse are no longer associated with the program. FSU Head Coach Mike Norvell fired both coordinators and hired two replacements with huge amounts of experience at other Power 5 programs.

FSU finished strong with its 2025 high school recruiting class in the Early Signing Period and has added 11 players with experience and production from the transfer portal who'll enroll early. They'll likely add more over the next week.

There's a lot to look forward to going into 2025. Here are the top three major things on my radar.
