The Clemson Tigers came into the season as the odds-on favorite to win the ACC and make the College Football Playoff. The probability of both happening took a significant hit with Clemson’s 24-21 loss against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday.
Ironically, Georgia Tech hit a game-winning field goal as time expired, the same score as the FSU game last year when they defeated the Noles in the season opener.
FSU fans felt confident after Clemson’s season-opening loss against LSU. It was a close game, and weird things happen in season openers. However, the eyebrows started to raise once Clemson trailed Troy at home at halftime last week.
The loss against Georgia Tech sent the Clemson is a pretender meter into overdrive on Saturday.

Throw some trickery at Clemson and they seem to struggle. Gus is all about the trickery and eye-candy.

Clemson has a lot of time to work through some kinks, and they had a couple of starters out. They’ll either eventually put it together or fall apart over the next few weeks. Luckily for Dabo Swinney, Clemson has a slew of winnable games coming up.
Here's who they over the next few weeks:
- Syracuse
- @ North Carolina
- @ Boston College
- SMU
- Duke
- FSU
Clemson’s biggest issues are on offense, similar to FSU a year ago. Syracuse’s defense is terrible, so if they struggle in that game? It’s a wrap. North Carolina is terrible. Boston College might be interesting, and SMU is an overrated team. I don’t think Duke is very good. Clemson should win all of those games, but they are close or they lose any of them? FSU has to travel to Clemson, but if they are healthy, FSU might put the stamp on them.
