FSU football: Did FSU players quit on Mike Norvell this season?

I don't think that's the case.

Offensive Woes

If any unit on this team quit, it was the offensive line. That unit couldn't run or pass block and continuously worsened as the season progressed. Unlike most, I re-watch every play and can't tell you how poorly they were coached.

Some blame could be DJ Uiagalelei missing some throws in some early games, but ultimately, the biggest culprit has been the offensive line.

The inability to make the most basic blocks was unbelievable, and veteran guys who have been All-ACC players looked like they had never played.

Is that on Mike Norvell or the offensive line coach/coordinator, Alex Atkins? Ultimately, it falls on Mike Norvell, but I think it was potentially Norvell not holding Atkins accountable, and that trickled down to the players in that unit.

How else does a group with that much experience play so poorly? They have allowed 38 sacks and 73 tackles for a loss(7.3 a game). The team only has 805 rushing yards in 10 games. I don't care what plays get called, but if the offensive line can't block it up, it'll fail unless someone makes an incredible individual play.

If the quarterback drops back and has fewer than two seconds every play, that doesn't leave much room for error. That's even tougher when playing inexperienced quarterbacks.
