FSU football could have an easy time with the rivals due to QBs being made of glass

Florida State could be successful against the pesky Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators.

FSU FOOTBALL OUTLOOK

Florida State football finished with a 2-10 record last season. It was an utter disaster as the program struggled to find consistency with wins on the gridiron. However, 2025 is a new year, and the Seminoles are looking to put their failures from the previous campaign behind them.

Florida State lost to both of its arch-rivals, Miami and Florida (and even Clemson if you classify them as a rival) by double-digit points. This is not the expectation that the Seminoles want in their program. If it were my choice, I would like them to blow those pesky Hurricanes and Gators out.

It is obvious that head football coach Mike Norvell doesn't like Mario Cristobal and Billy Napier, and he understands what a victory against them would mean perception-wise and from a recruiting standpoint.

HOBBLED QUARTERBACKS

Florida State football enters the year with a quarterback in former UCF and Boston College transfer Thomas Castellanos, who is filled with extreme confidence in his abilities and his team's chances to beat Alabama.

Meanwhile, there is trouble in Coral Gables with former Georgia quarterback transfer Carson Beck, as he missed the postseason with the Bulldogs while he was rehabbing from a right elbow injury. It does look like he will be ready to go in fall camp, but the hesitancy is always there with the injury.

Then, Florida signal-caller DJ Lagway has been in a boot, according to a report from On3's Zach Abolverdi.

This could be a disastrous situation for a quarterback that the Gators are banking on to have a great season. The Florida program has a difficult schedule in 2025, just like they did in 2024. Some individuals are calling Lagway a top-three signal-caller in the SEC conference.

While this isn't GatorChat, it is noteworthy since the Seminoles have to worry about them in the final game of the 2025 regular season. If Lagway is made of "glass" and misses the Florida State game, it could be significant news for the Seminoles.

Disclaimer: I don't want to see Lagway injured, and I want to see them at their best when the Gators play Florida State, so they don't have any excuses when the Seminoles beat them in Gainesville.
