One of the biggest problems for FSU football in 2024 was the lack of leadership. FSU had built a solid foundation from the transfer portal with the 2022 team, and nearly all of those guys came back with Jordan Travis to form one of the best FSU teams in a decade in 2023.
That team went undefeated in the regular season and won the ACC for the first time since 2014. FSU has 10 players drafted from that team, which meant a lot of new faces needed to become leaders in 2024.
That didn't happen, as the players that the coaches selected from the transfer portal failed to live up to expectations, and a large portion of the upperclassmen who returned from the 2023 team were money-hungry and failed to meet expectations.
There was no accountability, and once FSU went 0-2, it felt like many players started going through the motions(heck, some seemed to do that in the season opener).
FSU has some young players who gained quite a bit of experience last year, but most of the leadership will likely come from the transfer portal once again. Here are five players I'm looking at for leadership the most in fall camp.
