FSU football: 5 MAJOR areas Noles must handle for shot at upsetting Miami Hurricanes
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football will travel to Miami this weekend to potentially shock the world as three-touchdown betting underdogs against the rival Miami Hurricanes.
It has been an interesting turn of events, as FSU was the betting favorite for this game in the preseason. An inept offense through the first seven games has FSU at 1-6. A good offense and playing a soft schedule has Miami at 7-0.
The biggest issue for FSU is turnovers and a bad offensive line that can't do anything positive for long stretches. At times, they have passed blocked well and been poor at run-blocking, and other times the opposite.
However, plays have been there in the passing game, and the receivers and tight ends have failed miserably to catch wide-open passes. FSU drops have likely cost FSU two wins, and it's most of the upperclassmen that have failed to deliver in those moments.
Miami isn't an elite team, and I'd predict they'd get steamrolled by anyone with a decent offense and good defense. I think FSU's defense will perform better than most expect, but the offense has hindered the Noles all season. Can they pull the upset? It's unlikely, but crazier things have happened in rival games. Here are the top five major things they must do to pull it off.
