FSU football: 3 reasons UVA defense will likely struggle to contain FSU offense

Florida State traveling to face the Virginia Cavaliers has provided some excitement for the FSU fan base after facing poor competition in the two games following the upset win over Alabama.

Virginia looks better than expected, especially on offense, and we already provided three keys to the FSU defense containing that side of the ball.

This piece will focus on the FSU offense against the Virginia defense. Like the offensive piece, we’ll focus mostly on Virginia’s performance in the NC State game because the other opponents they have played are terrible (not that NC State is great, but they have a talented quarterback and a few pieces).

Looking at the NC State game, there are several red flags that show up right away if I’m a Virginia fan, wondering if the Cavaliers can slow the FSU offense down enough to pull off the upset.

Yes, the UVA faithful will be as loud as possible, and it’s the first road test of the year for the Noles. However, a running game will travel, and that’s the specialty of Gus Malzahn’s offense.  Let’s discuss three reasons why the Virginia defense will likely struggle to contain the FSU offense.
