We'll see what the coaching staff decides to do in the transfer portal at the defensive tackle position. Jackson returning means they don't have to take a crazy expensive option from the portal if they don't want to.

It would be great to pair Jackson with a top target like Lee Hunter, but both only have one year of eligibility.

They could be on the field at the same time, but would Hunter want to come to FSU now that Jackson is returning? If he comes back for a visit, then we'll know there's mutual interest.

This takes the pressure off the staff to find a quality defensive tackle in the portal. It also likely allows the staff to put resources towards other positions on defense.

FSU still needs a defensive end/Edge type. I could see them taking another linebacker. I wouldn't mind if they took an experienced safety since that position plays an important role in Tony White's defense.
