Rivalry games between FSU and Miami are the best, especially when both teams are near the upper echelon in college football. Some questions remain about both teams going into Saturday night’s prime-time matchup, but this game has more juice than any game between the two in the past five+ years. It’s the first matchup with both teams ranked inside the top 25 since 2016.
The game would have had even more buzz if the Noles could have come into the game undefeated instead of losing in double overtime last week. However, we wrote that the loss against Virginia could have been a blessing in disguise.
The folks in Vegas expect it to be a close game, but they aren’t always right. They expected Alabama to blow out FSU in the season opener. There’s a higher probability of the game being a one-score game than a blowout. Miami fans think they have a better chance of blowing FSU out than vice versa, but that’s not likely.
If anyone gets blown out, it’s likely Miami for a few reasons we’ll point out here. If it happens, it's likely all of these reasons intertwined.
