Cut Tons Of Dead Weight From The Roster
FSU had 19 players enter the transfer portal during the Early Winter window, and only a handful have been or could have been contributors in 2025.
When I can honestly say the roster likely got much better by losing 19 players and only adding 11 so far. That explains how much dead weight was on the roster.
That's also not including probably 10 or more players who exhausted eligibility after the 2024 season and have exited the program. Most of those players played sparingly or poorly in 2024 too.
It's why FSU will continue to add players after the New Year, so they can replace those players to improve the floor of the program with more depth.
Most players who entered the transfer portal were acquired before FSU won 10 games in 2022 or had bad transfer portal evaluations.
FSU getting these players off of the roster and improving the floor will improve competition at practice and overall player development.
