A week from today, the Florida State Seminoles will take the field for the first time in 2025 and officially close the door on the disastrous 2024 season. The Noles will have a tall task that will test them immediately out of the gate when they welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide to Doak Campbell Stadium.
Most FSU fans are in wait-and-see mode, and that’s fair, considering how last year went. However, FSU made some drastic changes to the coaching staff and roster in the offseason. If we’re judging off sheer talent, FSU has more talent than most would believe.
The roster boasts a blue-chip ratio of over 50 percent, which is higher than most of the teams on their schedule. However, FSU has a lot of players who were blue-chip players out of high school who either have dealt with a ton of injuries or lack experience.
FSU will likely compete with teams with their starting 22, but it’s when they substitute that we could see a gap against the better teams on the schedule.
FSU will play one of the four teams with more talent in game one, but will have three games to develop some depth before they hosts the Miami Hurricanes. Here are three areas where the lack of depth is a concern going into 2025.
